A Pizza Picnic

Felice and I have a favourite pizza takeaway which happens to be over the other side of town to where we are currently living.  But the journey is worth it, the pizza's are succulent, tasty and cooked to perfection - all for a very reasonable price!  One Saturday evening we made our way there on what happened to be an evening of festivities celebrating the 'Liberazioni dell'Italia' which I can't write about in more detail as I don't know much about it!  As a result many of the roads were blocked and there was a great deal of traffic.  We were in and out of the pizza takeaway in the space of 5 minutes.  But then we got caught up in the traffic, the pizza was getting cold, so what should we do when it would take at least another half an hour to get back to the apartment the way things were going?  We spied a cobbled side street and Felice went for it, his small car clunking down the alley.  We found ourselves at the other side of the port in the opposite direction to our apartment so there was no choice, we would stop the car and eat our pizza's there and then!  I've never had a pizza picnic before but it was quite fun.  Thank goodness I had some tissues in my pocket and Felice had some water in the car so we could get messy fingers but clean up afterwards!
