Our First Argument

It was all very silly as is often the case with arguments. I was happily using my computer to email a few people whilst Felice was watching television.  For some reason he thought I was ignoring him. "Excuse me"? I said "I'm just on my computer". Those few words started a ridiculous argument in which all kinds of other accusations were said from both of us, and needless to say it got blown out of all proportion.  I was speaking half in English, half in Italian and he was speaking so quickly at times I had trouble remembering what we were arguing about!  It's very difficult having a row in two languages, not to mention frustrating!  How could I possibly make myself understood when I didn't have enough grasp of the Italian language to say exactly what I wanted?  Therefore, how could we sort this out properly?  But somehow, thankfully, we managed to resolve things in an amicable way.  However it did make me realise that the road ahead is very long indeed and it will take a lot of time and patience from each of us to truly understand one another.  One thing worth remembering though is that under a different set of circumstances I could be with an English guy, in the UK, having a similar kind of argument!  It's how you resolve things that's important.
