Australian diary snippets!

The Car!

Whilst we were at the restaurant, Lo Smeraldo choosing the menu (and negotiating the best price possible) with two of the female members of staff, they asked us if we would like to book one of their cars for the day itself.  Firstly there was the Mercedes for €450, or perhaps we'd like the Ferrari for €600?  Felice and I just looked at each other.  We'll discuss it and get back to you we said.  Yes you do that, the firmer of the two ladies said, but remember that there's a chance the car you like may not be available if you take too long to decide.

After some thought and discussion we managed to negotiate a special deal.  As we had to organise a bus to take the English guests to the reception venue we agreed to the Mercedes and the bus for €500. Not bad, we thought, after the original prices for just a car!

The Photographer!

After a recommendation from the friend with the car, we found a photographer that was available for the date of the wedding.  Is it my imagination or are things running remarkably smoothly?  Most people keep telling us how lucky we have been to find things available for when we want.  A lot of couples here have to book at least two years in advance!

The photographer, a young professional, was friendly and willing to do as we please on the day itself.  It's Italian tradition for a number of photographs to be taken on the morning of the wedding as the bride is getting ready.  Not something I revelled in hearing but the important thing is I think I will feel comfortable with him as he tells me how to pose!
