Bomboniere What's Bomboniere then? Quite simply its the traditional wedding gift that is given to each couple or family at the end of the day as a reminder of the event. Bomboniere can be anything from a bowl to a photograph frame. What's important is that it is tasteful and nice. Having been asked why, at our wedding, we don't just go with English tradition and have a selection of confetti on offer, the answer had to be that having become more aware of the Italian culture there is no doubt that if at our wedding there was no bomboniere, the Italians would be most disappointed. Not only that but we would never here the end of it! Somehow I don't fancy being talked about for years to come as being mean! So with that in mind the bomboniere was purchased and put in a very nice box ready to present to the guests as they left the reception hall on the wedding day itself. Some of the English wedding guests mistook it for an extra slice of wedding cake and subsequently put it in their hotel fridge only to open the box the next day and discover it was actually an amber coloured candle holder made from famous Venezian glass!
